Tension is growing in Goma DR Congo following a rise of violent
crime.
Several cases of insecurity have been recorded since July 5th.
Two people were killed, several others injured and several
armed robbers captured in the capital of North Kivu province.
In downtown Goma, a gunman attempted to rob people at a
funeral but was shot dead by mourners managed to wrestle his weapon away from him.
Earlier the same day, in the Nyabushongo district population
angrily attacked a police vehicle it accused of failing to protect local people
from rising insecurity in the city.

In the Ngangi district, a child was killed and another
injured after being hit by bullets fired by a drunk soldier.
Finally, in the Green Lake neighborhood, a gunman was taken down
by police as he attacked the home of a doctor.
