Unknown gunmen have shot dead a senior officer with the Somalia
government near Mogadishu.
Mohamud Mohamed Nur was gunned down by suspected Al Shabab gunmen in
the town of Afgoye, approximately 30 kilometres south-west of the Somalia
capital.

A manhunt is underway but the gunmen escaped the scene and no arrests
have been made.
No group claimed responsibility for the killing but Al Shabab
militants have carried out similar attacks since the start of the Ramadan.
