Grenade blast in public market wounds 27 in South Sudan

Scores of people have been wounded in South Sudan's Upper Nile State after a local soldier detonated a grenade inside a busy market in the State's capital Malakal.

27 victims were taken to hospital, and it is not known yet if there are any fatalities.

The motive for the incident is not clear, and the soldier responsible was severely injured. No expatriates are reported among the injured.
