Warrior Regional Co-ordinator Patrick Ndeze has just sent this update:
Tension between Rwanda and DRC has been running very high for the last 2 days. Goma and Gisenyi have exchanged artillery and small arms fire killing civilians on both sides and destroying buildings.
As I write this report awaiting arrival of uniforms at the border crossing post, a bomb has just burst close by in Gisenyi with civilians finding cover wherever they can. Schools and businesses are closed and there is general feeling that the situation will deteriorate even further unless the international community take action.
