Tanzania confirms cholera at Burundian refugee camp

Tanzania has confirmed a cholera outbreak at a refugee camp sheltering thousands of people who fled political unrest in neighbouring Burundi.

"The Ministry of Health is sending a team of medical experts to the Burundi refugee camp in Tanzania to deal with the cholera outbreak", said Tanzania Health Ministry spokesman Nsachris Mwamwaja said.

More than 105,000 Burundians have fled the country, with 70,000 crossing into Tanzania alone, since the political crisis began.
