Refugees still arriving in Juba

Internally displaced People (IDPs) in South Sudan are still converging on UN sites to escape the unrest.

Yesterday morning it was estimated approximately 500 men women and children arrived at a UN location in Juba, reportedly from Bentiu, Unity State.

Warrior Security personnel numbers were increased at strategic gates in order to more effectively process the IDPs and carry out rigorous searching under the supervision of the UN police.

Warrior security guards have become highly experienced in this critical area of access control since fighting erupted last December. There are reportedly over 26,000 IDPs currently under UN protection in Tongping, Juba.
